Our History

office_photo Boozman Eye Clinic was founded in July 1977 by two brothers, Fay Boozman, M.D. and John Boozman, O.D. The original clinic location in Rogers, Arkansas was across from St. Mary's Hospital on North 12th and Chestnut.

In July 1980 a second optometrist, Jim Myers, joined the practice. In July 1981 the clinic practice merged with the practice of C. William Hof, M.D. and became Boozman-Hof Regional Eye Clinic, P.A. In 1985, Randall E. Cole, M.D. became the third M.D. and fifth physician to join the staff. In October 1988 the practice moved to a new state-of-the-art facility, located at 3737 W. Walnut in Rogers, where it remains today.

With increased patient volume, especially from the Bella Vista, Arkansas area, the clinic added a Bella Vista location at #25 Cunningham Corner in March 1996.

The following month, in April 1996, a long-time dream became a reality with the opening of the new Boozman-Hof Eye Surgery and Laser Center at the Rogers location. This ophthalmic ambulatory surgery center is the first of its kind in Northwest Arkansas.

In May 1998 clinic co-founder, Fay Boozman, took a leave of absence after winning the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. After his defeat in the November general election, Dr. Boozman retired from Boozman-Hof and was appointed by Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee to be the Director of the Arkansas Department of Health.

In June 2001, John Boozman took a leave of absence to run as the Republican candidate in the special election for U.S. Representative for the Third Congressional District. Upon his victory in November 2001, he retired from Boozman-Hof to devote himself full-time to public service.

Why is Boozman-Hof Different?

Our experienced MDs are well respected and have privileges in all local hospitals. The majority of our staff has been with us for more than five years, and all of our opticians and technicians are certified, or in a current training program.

We Care About Quality!

Our attention to detail has brought us continuous "Excellent" rankings on patient satisfaction surveys in our clinic, our surgery center, and our optical department. Our goal is quality care. We achieve this in several ways:

  • Our on-site surgery center is operated according to hospital standards.
  • We have implemented a state-of-the-art optical laboratory to ensure that the highest optical quality standards are met.
  • We maintain a corporate Medicare compliance program for billing integrity.
